Luke de Vial is Head of Water Resources and Supply at Wessex Water. A hydrogeologist by training he is now responsible for ensuring that customers are provided with a reliable supply of water, whatever the weather, both in the short and long term.
Specialist areas include working with farmers to reduce the impact of pollution on groundwater and surface water sources, assessing the impact of abstractions on river flows, and promoting the wise use of water to customers. He hopes not to prepare another water resources plan for at least three years.
