Dr Robert Thurlby
Dr. Thurlby joined Serco in 2007 where he has responsibility for developing and delivering products and services that will improve the capabilities of utilities, and other asset intensive industries, to plan and optimise their asset investment programmes.
He has over 25 years experience working with the global utility sector, where he is a recognised expert in the development of systems and processes that improve the performance of utilities critical operations.
In recent years this work has focused on the development of analytical and modelling tools that improve asset life cycle management in the electricity and water sectors. He is currently working on a government sponsored project to improve the way utilities assess threats, especially cyber and climate change threats and develop improved mitigation strategies.
Dr. Thurlby has a PhD from Brunel University, and a BSc in Chemistry from Durham University; he is a Chartered Engineer (FBCS) and a Member of the Institute of Asset Management.
