Holds a BSc in Environmental Science, specialising in Atmospheric and Aquatic Science, from University of East Anglia and an MSc in Applied Environmental Economics from London University.

Joined Thames Water in 1989 after a fleeting foray into consultancy Always worked in environmental regulation, initially on the wastewater side of the business, more recently on the clean water side. Now heads up the Environment and Quality Strategy team in the Strategy and Regulation department of Thames Water.

Her team are responsible for the setting business strategies on environment and quality matters and for liaison with all three environment and qaulity regulators, Environment Agency, Natural England and the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

Currently heavily involved in the preparations for Thames Water's Public Inquiry into their draft Water resources Management Plan, scheduled to start 15 June 2010.
