Andy Palmer
Andy is a Director in AECOM’s Water business and heads up their UK practice area for community infrastructure.
With over 35 years experience, his early career was in local government where he undertook a variety of roles, from design and supervision of municipal infrastructure, to management of compulsory competitive tendering contracts for environmental cleansing, landscape maintenance, waste management and recycling.
He later concentrated on drainage infrastructure and subsequently became the sewerage agency manager for Borough of Broxbourne. Andy moved into consultancy in the early 1990’s, where his primary focus has continued to be on water but has also embraced projects in other sectors. This has included a particular emphasis on asset management, with projects in highways and rail as well as water.
Andy is a member of the ACE’s Water Special Interest Group and chairs the Herts and Beds branch of ICE.
