Who's Speaking?

Mark is a Partner in the Projects & International Construction Group.  He is a specialist in the field of infrastructure law and has over 30 years' experience practising in this field, with particular emphasis in the water sector.

Michelle Spillar has 9 years experience in Meteorology. Having completed an MSc in Applied Meteorology at Reading University, Michelle moved to the Met Office to work as a weather forecaster.

Mike Woolgar has over 25 years’ practical experience of water management including water supply engineering, water resource planning, water resource development engineering and flood risk mitigation in UK and overseas. 

Dr. Tony Ballance is Director of Strategy and Regulation at Severn Trent Water. Prior to joining Severn Trent in August 2005 Dr. Ballance was an economic consultant in the utilities sector working as a Director for Stone & Webster Consultants and London Economics.

Tony joined the Consumer Council for Water in December 2005 as Chief Executive. Since it was set up, CCWater has tried to encourage water companies, their regulators and government to make sure that the industry and the way it is regulated is fully focused on customers and their needs.

As Head of Water Resource Policy for the Environment Agency, Trevor's national responsibilities include all aspects of Policy development across Water Resources.

Holds a BSc in Environmental Science, specialising in Atmospheric and Aquatic Science, from University of East Anglia and an MSc in Applied Environmental Economics from London University.
